This is the result of my experimenting with several effects to enhance the crispness of the flower and to produce the soft background effect.
I shot this image of Little Hall, gave it a dreamy effect in Photoshop and used it with a promotional project for UA's School of Social Work. The building, with its impressive columns, struck me as classic element of the school's image so I used varying photographs and effects of it where possible.
The winged creature in my garden globe was created in Photoshop. It's me.
BBJ sections also required developing themes, which I did such as the popular super hero theme for 2012 Top 40 under 40. Making these sections happen also required my handling the software to produce online award nomination forms in CMS Krang. I also helped generate nominations, planned and edited section content and promotional collateral (ads, blogs, event materials including programs, blast mails and posters) for print, online and events, hired writers and photographers, used Caspio database to survey award winners for section profiles, scheduled photo shoots, coordinated layout and deadlines with production, provided the blast mail schedule for all sections, ensured all contractual obligations with partnerships (local and corporate) were met, had input and implemented the editorial calendar, established some award programs like the Corporate Counsel awards and revised others like Entrepreneur Spotlight,

As sections coordinator for the Birmingham Business Journal (BBJ), I managed and developed both editorial and award sections, which was unique to smaller markets in the American City Business Journals chain of business publications in the U.S. To manage this demanding workload, I advanced section deadlines, as well as planned and assigned the work six to eight weeks before publication. I developed and implemented the BBJ Peep Nation e-newsletter to generate story ideas and sources for cover stories, Q&As, Bottom Line surveys and more. I researched the section content to promote timely topics and graphics, as well as helped promote sections at all awards events.
